The Crimson Tide Bass Anglers are #1 in the nation thanks to the help of Terry Bowden and his lizard worm. This past August our club participated in the College Smash Mouth Bass Championship that took place on the Arkansas River in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Facing scorching temperatures and no current on the river the fishing was very tough. Flipping lizard worms on matted grass was practically the only way we could get bit. We finished strong with a 7th place showing in the event. In October, our club sent three teams to the Fox National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship held on Lewisville Lake just outside of Dallas, Texas. Lewisville Lake is unlike any lake we had fished before. The lake has very little structure and NO grass. Once again, my partner and I turned to the lizard worm, but this time we drug them on a carolina rig across rocky/windy points to catch our bass. We had teams finish 7th 11th and 16th. The effectiveness of the lizard worm to generate strikes in adverse conditions helped us finish strongly in these two events. The worms worked great!
